Becky Denelsky is a former camper and staff parent, scholarship recipient and current summer staff member.
“The first summer my kids attended OSRUI, our lives were a mess. I was going through an awful separation/divorce. My kids absolutely would NOT have been able to attend camp without a scholarship.
My kids were given the opportunity, through camp, to just be kids and, more importantly, to be JEWISH kids.
They came back changed. Profoundly. They had made powerful connections not only with people but with their Judaism.
Every single year, for many years, they kept coming back and now I, along with my husband, come back as Tour La'Agam staff.
Now I make a monthly contribution to the OSRUI campership fund. OSRUI was a game-changer for my children. It was the trajectory for their lives. Of all the Jewish experiences out there - Summer Camp - OSRUI - has to be the most profound.”
